Hey everyone! I was absent for a while and decided to switch to a shorter-form content series. It should be easier to read but a bit more challenging to write. Overall, it's good practice for me to formulate my thoughts concisely.
In this post, I want to share the tools and resources I use to enhance my focus and productivity.
1. Endel is my preferred "flow state" tool. I typically use it in Pomodoro mode with 30-45 minute intervals. The main concept behind Endel is to tailor background sounds to personalized factors, like your location, time of the day, and even heart rate. I can't say if personalization is what makes it special, but I am a big fan of their sound library! Here’s my referral for a 2-week free trial.
2. HÖR is an electronic music channel known for its iconic bathroom background. They publish a fresh one-hour mix every day. I often tune into their techno tracks when I need an energy boost. We recently started playing HÖR on our room speakers in the hackspace. As a small team developing a physical product, it works great for hackathon-like engineering sessions.
3. Brown noise is excellent for masking distractions and promoting deep concentration. I usually use this 10-hour YouTube track:
Just sounds or music won't work if other parts of your workflow are fragmented. So, make sure you create a solid foundation with your general workflow first.
I hope this was helpful. I’d love to hear what you use for focusing in the comments!
